Devourer of Worlds Best Friend

Why hello there! How are you? It feels like I haven’t seen you in so long! Why is that again?

Oh, that’s right. I reached my laziest and managed not to draw anything for a couple of weeks. Pat on the back anyone? No? Damn.

So the biggest apologies that I can muster to Mr. Tom Sniegoski. If you want a sweet book to read, go give him a look. If you want timely pictures? Find a different blog. I know that these deadlines are imaginary, but I still feel bad for missing them. Let’s ignore imposed guilt for a second and look at the pretty picture shall we?

We have Galactus commanding an adorable French bulldog puppy as per request: “A French Bulldog puppy wielding the Power Cosmic in service to Galactus.  Maybe he could even have the Silver Surfer’s board or something.” A nice little celebration of Tom’s new puppy Kirby, and a successful one!

There’s usually something about my art that I notice and groan at, but this is a pretty satisfactory on every front. The line work is good, the color works (did you know that cosmic space is the color of barf?), and most importantly it is fun. To work on and to look at. I know that the piece has things that I can improve, but any time I get a good chortle out of what I’m looking at I forgive many of the shortcomings.

All I really had to draw was Galactus to get a laugh. Are you looking at what that guy is wearing? There are so many details that I never notice until I need to draw a character. I knew that Galactus looked dumb, but man, it’s worse than I realized. Trust me, I love Galactus- any time FF v Galactus I know that it’s a good read- but man, sometimes you just need to laugh at the absurdity that can be the world of comics.

The puppy was just an amazing bonus for this picture.
