This is Knutz turns 1 today! Wooooooooooooooo!
It was a year ago today that I started electronically pestering people! You’re welcome, World!
To celebrate- well, I had to draw something!
In commemoration of the first post, I decided that I’d cook up another Rex piece:
This time it’s puppy Rex. When I thought about all of the times that I’ve drawn Rex, I realized that I had never envisioned him as a puppy. Well here he is! Taking down an evil housecat! Who may be a secret member of that dastardly Cat Crime Club! Not that Rex was ever part of the Space Canine Patrol Agents…..but that would have been EPIC.
The goal of this blog was to get me drawing more. DONE and DONE. I’ve always drawn a lot, but I wanted to get better. I wanted to figure out what the heck and Ames guide was and what people meant when they talking about inking nibs. A year ago the most art that I did was just a bic pen and a sketchbook. Which now seems absolutely insane. My world is ruled by Photoshop and Bristol, and trying to figure out how to ink with a brush and pen.
Of course, there’s still a long way to go, but I’m not afraid of trying anymore. Drawing comics and drawing things online isn’t something that is out of my reach, it’s something I do on a daily basis.
THEREIN LIES AN ANNOUNCEMENT.
An optimistic goal of this site was to meet other people with a passion in comics. After being tapped to rock an Awesome Hospital side story, I got this really short email from Josh Krach: “I was wondering if we shouldn’t try doing a webcomic.”
That was November.
Now it’s March.
And on April 1st Troop Infinity goes live.
I am SO INCREDIBLY PSYCHED FOR THIS. This being an awesomely fun all-ages trek into a world of kids, monsters, aliens, and adventure! The sky is not close to the limit on this comic!
I think it goes without saying that I’ve basically accomplished what I set out to do with this blog. Don’t worry, though! I still have leagues to learn, and I will happily continue to post all failures and all successes right here on this little niche I’ve carved out for myself.
As always: Thanks for stopping!
