I’ve been practicing my Klarion the Witch-Boy recently. I’ve always had an attraction to characters that are agents of chaos. Trickster mythology is hands-down my favorite to learn about, so I think Klarion is a pretty awesome muse.
I’d never heard of him until Batgirl #18 got rave reviews a few months ago. The gist of the tale: A Valentine’s date made more complicated when Klarion is trying to stop his familiar, Teekl, from chasing after lady-cats. I picked it up because of the buzz and was not dissapointed.
Flash back to a couple of weeks ago, and the little Witch-Boy pops up on Young Justice. So he went from a character that I knew nothing about to someone kicking the butts of DC’s foremost teen team.
I’ve decided to adopt the cross-world nuisance. I applied to Clarion University to get a masters degree and the similarities in name did not escape me. Since it’s an online program I feel like I don’t need to adhere to their mascot (some general bird, hawk….thing) and decided that I’d pick Klarion to represent Clarion.
I don’t know if I’m in the program yet, but I thought that I could at least draw Klarion doing one thing.
Have to get that application in on time!
Yeah, I’m guessing that he wouldn’t quite grasp how to use the postal system. But you gotta respect that out-of-the-box thinking.
If I’m lucky I’ll get to draw more of Klarion (keep your fingers crossed!)
Thanks for stopping!
