Once upon a time this semester sucked. I’m so busy that I hardly remember what a pencil looks like. So forget finding enough time to actually put one to paper. Because of this I’ve felt guilty and pressured and just so completely off that it’s effecting me in all sorts of uncomfy ways. I’m not sure how to explain it to people who don’t draw….but drawing is something that I need to do. It is so much a part of me that I do not know how to function without drawing. If that paints me as weak, then that’s just the way that its gotta be.
I can’t keep going without drawing, so I’ve been racking my brain for something small that I could do daily to try and release some of this pressure. I had not been able to think of anything.
Until today.
I thought that I would try and bring back a game that I played throughout school. In my immense boredom at school I would fervently whisper to any and all neighbors, “Name an animal”. They would pick their poison, and I would have distraction, however brief.
There’s nothing complex about it. I just draw an animal. It’s an idea so simple I can’t believe that it hasn’t hit me in the face before. I get to draw, I get to please someone, and I get to add content to this site. The fact that I find animals easy, and that the updated content isn’t that awesome….those are things that we’re going to ignore.
