Art Roll Nonproductive Hesperornis

Nonproductive Hesperornis

I realized two days ago that I hadn’t updated this in a month. WHAT?! I feel like I just threw all of those wombats here! Apparently not the case. Between work, school, and drawing webcomics I totally forgot about this. It’s funny because I’ve been drawing up a storm, I just have to ‘save’ everything. All the monsters I’ve drawn? They’ll eventually be Troop Infinity posts, a couple sketches here and there for other websites….yeah, so I’ve been busy like a champ, just not with TIK-esque posts. Phew. I’ll try and keep a better eye on that this month.

I panicked when I realized that I hadn’t updated, and with no real good excuse. I sat myself down and thought, “What do I want to draw?”. And absolutely no one answered me. I alloted myself an hour for the task, and everything that I thought of would take more then that. I ruled out dinosaurs and wombats, since that seems to be what I always post, thought about Rex the Wonderdog, realized I post him a lot too….

In the end prehistory won. Not a dinosaur, but one of my favorite prehistoric animals: Hesperornis regalis. Don’t let the ‘regalis’ in its name confuse you. This was a flightless waterfowl. I think it was probably hilarious. This textbook seems to confirm that, “Like a modern loon, it would have been clumsy and vulnerable on land.” Poor Hesperornis.

Thanks for stopping!
