Hey everybody!
I decided to bring back Order Up. It was my weekly/bi-weekly challenge to myself. I ask a creator for an off-the-wall suggestion and do my darnedest to draw it. I had to suspend it early this year while I was student teaching. It simply took too much time. Since then I tried to fill the void with odd updates, reviews, short posts, and largely wombats. I learned that I’m not very patient when it comes to writing and that I’m not consistent when I only have myself to answer to.
A couple weeks ago I remembered that Order Up is how this blog started, and I decided to return back to form.
To start, a suggestion from Chris Roberson:
Haha! YES. So here’s my interpretation on that request:

Mr. Roberson kind of bowled a strike when he requested this. I’ve got a lot to learn, but if I said I had a wheelhouse animals would totally be it. So when it comes to comics and the animals that they have? I’m a pro. So he asked for four of the dogs shown, but there was more than enough space and I threw some extras in. There’s a lot that I like about this. I’m gonna go through the piece, but if you want to figure out who the extra cast is, and what Easter Eggs I’ve hidden, don’t read the following.
—
-So the bonus characters are Ace the Bathound from Batman and Tail Terrier and Bull Dog (oh, you gotta love these names) from Space Canine Patrol Agents.
-There’s a SCPA helmet on the floor
-The bowl in the middle belongs to M. Mutt, or Mammoth Mutt, also a SCPA (now deceased)
-I love that Dynomutt has the largest pot but has been repeatedly showing his cards.
-Scooby can’t find his fifth card and he keeps betting with Scooby Snacks, which are also on the floor.
-Tail Terrier had totally been cheating the whole game. Hence Ace having the fewest chips (he could never cheat) and Krypto glaring at him. That X-Ray vision? Yeah, that dog knows what Tail Terrier is up to.
-I just love that they’re all still in a room that is on fire and has batarangs stuck in the walls and furniture. Clearly the last hand did not go well.
-Nothing about this picture makes this clear, but Rex totally has the best hand. C’mon, he’s Rex.

While I was dreaming up the post sketch, I doodled this Krypto:
I can’t imagine that this is actually true, but I’m no scientist. I’m just figuring that if he has eyes that can sense fluctuations in spectrum invisible to the human eye….he has to be able to see the simple Roy G. Biv, right? If he can’t, that really does suck. Sorry, Krypto.
Thanks for stopping!
