A week ago I bought Pokemon: White. Since a week ago, I haven’t really drawn that much. But! I have earned 8 badges and I’m ready to rock the socks off of Team Plasma! So yeah, I’m kind of awesome. Me and a legion of 10-year-olds.
Really though, Pokemon: B/W has been awesome. I love the idea of all new pokemon and a new storyline and the fact that the other kids in your hometown aren’t going to make fun of you every time you see them (here’s looking at you Gary). It still has all of the awesome Pokeclassics in place, “Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?” but just builds on a game that I love.
And I love nothing more than my Newton.
I have expressed before that I’m not known for strategy. Here’s my latest battle plan: Newton kills everyone. Sometime around level 30 I realized that combining Newton holding the Lucky Egg and giving someone else (Rutherford, Goddard, or Darwin) the Exp. Share meant that I didn’t need to rotate out Pokemon. That Newton, who I love, could just attack everything. With Normal, Fire, and Fighting moves, Newton can take down a lot of Pokemon. The fact that he is now on average 10-20 levels higher than every pokemon we meet……he just doesn’t really have weaknesses anymore.
I have really no idea what Newton is. I saw his first form rolling all over and shrinking into himself and just had to have that. He now resembles more of a gorilla then a lump of clay, but that’s still a generous interpretation. The fact that I’ve named every Pokemon after a scientist doesn’t help either. I really have no idea what Pokemon he is. D….something. Since I nickname everything (this games theme is ‘famous scientists’) I don’t actually learn their names. The only generation that I can reliably name is the original 151.
I think I’ve proven that I’m satisfied anyway. Newton and I have been kicking butt and taking names like nopokes’ business.
Thanks for stopping!
